Hey everyone 👋,
I'm keeping it short this time for our March update. I've been really busy with stuff at home and work. There's not much to share about work, but I'll quickly fill you in on what's going on.
🤖 Started writing tech articles on Medium
In February, I was trying to find a way to share my Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) libraries so I could use them easily in my projects. I chose Maven Central because it's popular among developers and it's free. But, it turned out to be harder than I thought. I couldn't find any helpful guides; they were all either confusing or incomplete.
After a lot of time and effort, I finally managed to share my first library on Maven Central. Yay! 🚀
Then, I thought, why not write about my experience, on Medium? If it was tough for me, others might be facing the same issue. I wanted to help other developers by sharing what I learned.
I shared my article in a few places like X, Reddit, and the Kotlin community's Slack.
A few days later, something exciting happened – my article was featured in the Kotlin Weekly newsletter! 🎉 This was unexpected and made me really happy.
A few weeks later, I decided to organize and centralize how I manage my own libraries. Without proper management, it can get really confusing and hard to handle.
One of the solution is called Bill of Materials (BoM). But just like before, finding a good guide was tough. I had to figure it out by myself. Then, I wrote another article about it, shared it on Medium, and posted it on the same platforms as before.
My new article also got noticed and featured on Kotlin Weekly, as well as on ProAndroidDev and droidcon! If you're not familiar, these are big names in the Android and Kotlin world.
This is a huge validation for me that I’m doing something right 😁 It motivates me to keep writing tech articles in the future!
💡 Working on something new
Meanwhile, I started to work on a new project. I chose to keep it private for now so I can concentrate on it and make quick progress without distractions.
This project has been on my mind for about two years, and I've finally started working on it. Unlike my past projects, this one solves a personal problem for me, giving me a clear direction and approach.
I'm looking forward to sharing more about it in my next newsletter!
🎬 That’s it for today, folks!
